Beat Saber is an award-winning VR rhythm game where players slice through beats of music with dual lightsabers. Celebrated for its energetic gameplay, music, and immersive VR experience, it's one of the most successful and best-selling VR titles to date. The game continues to evolve through new content, features, and community-driven updates that keep players coming back.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Led design efforts across progression systems, user-generated content, and meta-features to strengthen player engagement and retention.

  • Guided feature development from early concept through delivery, overseeing documentation, iteration, and coordination with cross-discipline teams.

  • Partnered with Creative and Game Directors to shape and uphold the game’s design vision and core player experience.

  • Built and refined design workflows, playtesting frameworks, and documentation standards to support clarity and collaboration.

  • Worked closely with production and cross-functional teams to align priorities, improve delivery pipelines, and maintain design quality.

Major Contributions:
  • Designed a new progression framework (unannounced) that adds depth and long-term goals to the player experience.

  • Developed and championed multiple user-generated content (UGC) systems that empower community creativity and extend the game’s lifespan.

  • Improved internal design processes and communication standards, streamlining collaboration across teams.

  • Supported hiring and mentorship of designers, helping grow a strong design culture.

  • Contributed to defining the next phase of Beat Saber’s design strategy, ensuring continued innovation and player excitement.
